Who do we see in the photo finish? The image is not always representative of who has done the work for change. There is a huge privilege to being able to be a part of photos and media in highly criminalised environments. This often leads to the perspective that work has been done by white workers only. The sex worker movement is also deeply connected to other worker’s struggles. The galleries below contain some of the research that was undertaken to create Whore Walk, but we encourage you to continue learning and listening to sex workers of all marginalisations.

An oral history documentary produced by Judith Peppard, first aired on Radio Adelaide, and featuring the voices of South Australian sex workers and their advocates describe how they organised politically to work for law reform and put in place measures to keep workers safe during the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Sex workers talk about how living in a criminalised environment affects their work and lives.
